Pastoral Care Volunteer - Aged Care Home, Scone

About the role

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, which links elderly people with volunteers in their local community. It is looking for a Pastoral Care Volunteer for its residential aged care home in Scone. You will support the spiritual and emotional needs of the residents and work alongside the Residential Pastoral Care Coordinator.

Key responsibilities

• Support people to meet their spiritual needs
• Nurture spiritual development
• Supplement and complement the work of the Residential Pastoral Care Coordinator, under their direction
• Visit residents regularly, for example weekly or fortnightly, between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday

Required profile

• 18 years or older
• NDIS Worker Screening Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
• High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills
• Willingness to attend HammondCare pastoral care training or the Spiritual Care Series, or to hold pastoral care training such as Chaplaincy or Clinical Pastoral Education
