Part-Time Oncology Pharmacist - Slade Pharmacy Hobart

About the role

Slade Pharmacy in Hobart is seeking an experienced pharmacist for a permanent part-time position (38 hours per fortnight) within its Icon Cancer Centre. The role covers the clinical review, preparation and dispensing of oncology treatments in a specialised cancer care setting. It suits an experienced oncology pharmacist continuing their specialisation, or an experienced pharmacist wanting to move into oncology practice, with comprehensive training and support provided.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-level clinical pharmacy services in oncology, including medication review, patient counselling and treatment optimisation
• Apply professional judgement to complex oncology cases and support evidence-based care across the patient journey
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a patient-centred cancer care environment
• Advise on oncology protocols, treatment regimens and supportive care strategies
• Contribute to quality improvement, clinical governance and research activities

Required profile

• Valid Australian working rights for at least 12 months from start of employment
• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a pharmacist
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a pharmacist
• Good knowledge of PBS; community pharmacists with strong PBS knowledge are encouraged to apply
• Ability to work autonomously in a busy, fast-paced environment and to communicate with doctors and patients
• Oncology or hospital pharmacy experience is highly desirable; compounding experience is desirable
