Part-Time Nanny for 1-Year-Old Baby

About the role

A warm and welcoming family in Port Melbourne, VIC is seeking an experienced, nurturing and engaging nanny to care for their happy and active 1-year-old boy. The mum works from home in a separate room and wants someone who can work independently while keeping the child happy, engaged and thriving. The position is long-term, at $45 per hour, with two days per week of 6 hours each.

Key responsibilities

• Provide attentive, nurturing care for the baby throughout the day, supporting his development through play, exploration and age-appropriate activities
• Plan engaging, age-appropriate developmental activities
• Read stories, sing songs and encourage language development
• Support naps, feeding routines and general daily care
• Prepare and assist with the baby's meals and feeding
• Take the baby to local activities such as Wednesday playgroup and Rhyme Time when appropriate
• Do baby-related laundry as required and keep the play area clean and organised

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years' professional nanny or infant care experience
• Experience caring for babies under 12 months is essential
• Warm, friendly, open-minded and easy to communicate with
• Reliable, proactive and able to work independently while a parent works from home
• Enjoys singing, storytelling, interactive play and outdoor play
• Excellent references; non-smoker

Required skills

• Current Working With Children Check
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate
• Full driver's licence preferred
• Childcare qualifications highly desirable
