Part-Time Nanny (After-School Care) - Lane Cove

About the role

A warm, connected family in Lane Cove, NSW is seeking an experienced, qualified nanny to care for its two children, aged 11 and 7. The role combines before and after-school care, supporting the children's daily rhythms while nurturing their independence, wellbeing, fun, development and growth. It is a long-term or permanent position starting as soon as possible, with 2 days per week between Monday and Friday (3pm-7pm), and potential for more hours next year.

Key responsibilities

• Before and after-school supervision: calm morning routine, school drop-offs and pick-ups, and a calm evening.
• Create a safe, positive environment and run activities such as active play, creative fun, outdoor adventures, reading, STEM curiosity and hands-on learning.
• Support independence through guided school preparation (bags, materials, daily readiness) and supportive homework routines.
• Help maintain simple, reliable rhythms and engage the children in preparing nutritious meals and snacks and organising their own spaces and school items.
• Assist with light household duties: keeping play areas, bedrooms and school items tidy, and ensuring uniforms and clothing are ready for the week.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience as a nanny or in a childcare-related role.
• Childcare qualifications preferred; degrees in occupational therapy, speech pathology, teaching, psychology, nursing, social work or childcare are highly regarded.
• Warm, calm presence, reliability, safety-focused guidance and an active, creative, outdoors-oriented approach.
• Current Working With Children Check, current First Aid and CPR certificate, full driver's licence with a clean record, strong references and a willingness to commit long term.
