Part-Time Mixologist

About the role

JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa is looking for an enthusiastic part-time mixologist to join its F&B team at the Chapter & Verse Bar in Surfers Paradise. The role is about building a memorable, unique drinking experience: bartenders are expected to know the basics, follow new trends and micro-local offerings, and take ownership of guest service beyond the bar.

Key responsibilities

• Develop drink menus, train staff and put them into practice
• Deliver exceptional customer service
• Contribute to a fun, friendly and welcoming workplace atmosphere
• Build relationships with colleagues across the hotel and in the community to anticipate guests' needs
• Keep the bar looking and functioning flawlessly, paying attention to details such as cash handling, guest information and drink quality

Required profile

• Previous experience in food and beverage service, ideally in a hotel environment
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) competency card
• Positive, can-do attitude and enjoyment of a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays

Required skills

• Mixologist skills and depth of knowledge of beverages, products and cocktails
• Barista skills are an advantage
