Orthopaedic Surgeon

About the role

Albury Wodonga Health is expanding its Orthopaedic Department and seeks an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon to deliver comprehensive elective and emergency services across North East Victoria and Southern New South Wales.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive orthopaedic surgical services and participate in the on‑call roster.
• Manage ward units, supervise junior medical staff, and oversee fracture clinic triage.
• Deliver high‑quality clinical management of orthopaedic patients in outpatient, fracture, and theatre settings.
• Collaborate with emergency, nursing, allied health, rehabilitation and geriatric teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives such as morbidity and mortality meetings, clinical reviews and multidisciplinary team activities.

Required profile

• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Orthopaedic Surgery.
• Specialist registration with AHPRA as an Orthopaedic Surgeon.
• Eligibility for credentialing and scope of practice approval at Albury Wodonga Health.
• Demonstrated experience in both elective and emergency orthopaedic surgery.
• Commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety and continuous quality improvement.
