Onboarding Delivery Manager - Group Digital

About the role

TAL, a life insurer protecting Australians for over 150 years, is looking for an Onboarding Delivery Manager for its Group Digital function. The role leads end-to-end delivery of onboarding solutions for TAL's superannuation partners, driving implementation of partner platforms and fund onboarding initiatives on time and to a high standard, with a strong focus on partner experience. It works closely with Product, Technology and external partners, coordinating priorities, risks and dependencies across multiple teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end delivery cadence across VS1, optimising ways of working to improve flow and enable rapid iteration.
• Set and maintain prioritisation across squads when demand exceeds capacity, using input from business, product and technology.
• Own the internal testing process and release readiness gates, deciding what ships and when.
• Identify delivery risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
• Adapt plans to changing partner needs, business goals or market conditions while keeping delivery integrity and stakeholder transparency.
• Maintain delivery health metrics and report regularly on status, risks and progress.
• Serve as the primary delivery interface for super fund partners and administrators, coordinating implementation and meeting partner commitments.
• Lead and support delivery team members through coaching, feedback and professional development.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of delivery management experience in a technology organisation, with a track record of leading end-to-end software delivery across multiple squads or workstreams.
• Demonstrated experience in a product and value stream-oriented delivery model, with strong understanding of agile principles, delivery cadence and continuous delivery practices.
• Experience managing delivery in a regulated industry, ideally financial services or insurance, including compliance and regulatory obligations in delivery planning.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional dependencies across technology domains (cloud, cyber, infrastructure) and managing delivery risk in complex, multi-team environments.
• Experience in partner or customer-facing delivery programmes, including managing external expectations, implementation coordination and change communication.
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
