OHS Advisor – Construction

About the role

Safety Australia Group is looking for a hands-on OHS Advisor to join a major construction project in Geelong, Victoria. You will work closely with site management, supervisors, subcontractors and workers to maintain safety standards, manage risks and promote a positive safety culture. The position is full-time and on-site, Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm, from October 2026 to February 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and identify hazards.
• Deliver site inductions and safety briefings.
• Build strong relationships with workers, supervisors and subcontractors.
• Respond to incidents and injuries and assist with investigations.
• Monitor compliance with SWMS, site procedures and WHS requirements.
• Provide practical safety advice to site personnel.
• Take part in monthly Health & Safety Committee meetings.
• Maintain accurate inspection, incident and investigation records using an iPad and basic computer systems.
• Support initiatives that strengthen safety awareness and accountability.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a WHS/Health & Safety role.
• Construction industry experience, preferably on active project sites.
• Sound understanding of practical site safety requirements.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent is preferred.
• First Aid and Emergency Experience Management qualifications are advantageous but not essential.

Required skills

• Confidence conducting inspections and addressing unsafe practices.
• Basic computer skills and confidence using an iPad.

What we offer

• Pay of $70 per hour plus superannuation.
• Full-time, on-site work during the contract period.
