Occupational Therapist – Mental Health (Clinic & Telehealth)

About the role

Back On Track Psychology is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team in a primarily clinic‑based mental health setting. The role involves working with adults and children across a range of complex mental health challenges, delivering therapy in‑clinic, via telehealth, and occasionally in the community.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Functional Capacity Assessments and develop individualized OT plans.
• Deliver evidence‑based interventions such as sensory integration, assistive technology, and environmental modifications.
• Collaborate with psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers and external services to ensure coordinated, person‑centred care.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to junior OTs and placement students (for experienced clinicians).
• Maintain accurate documentation meeting clinical and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration.
• Minimum 2 years post‑graduate experience with expertise in physical, cognitive or psychosocial domains.
• Working with Children Check and Victorian Police Check.
• Professional indemnity insurance and a current driver’s licence (vehicle preferred).

Required skills

• Therapeutic strategies for autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, schizophrenia, ABI and related conditions.
• Use of assessment tools such as BOT‑3, DASH‑2, BEERY, Vineland, AAGST, Theraputty, sensory swing, MYSET, Sensory Profile.
• Assistive technology implementation and environmental modification planning.
