Network Engineer (Cisco Enterprise Networks)

About the role

Airservices Australia, a government-owned organisation responsible for the safe and efficient management of 11% of the world's airspace and for aviation rescue and fire-fighting services at Australia's busiest airports, is looking for a Network Engineer. Reporting to the Network Services Lead, you will help keep critical network infrastructure performing well through proactive support, troubleshooting and operational excellence. The role is based in Victoria or Queensland with hybrid working.

Key responsibilities

• Support and manage Cisco-based network infrastructure and contribute to the evolution of Airservices' enterprise network environment.
• Work with technical specialists, project teams, stakeholders and vendors to maintain service continuity and deliver network improvements.
• Troubleshoot complex issues, support operational networks and take part in network upgrades and enhancements.
• Contribute to projects that modernise Airservices' network capability.
• Participate in an on-call roster and occasionally travel to operational sites.

Required profile

• Demonstrated hands-on experience supporting enterprise network environments.
• Ability to work independently, communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and support services in a 24/7 operational environment.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
• Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, as an ASIC is required for the role.

Required skills

• Strong Cisco networking knowledge, including routing and switching.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues.
• Exposure to network programming and automation concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
