NDT Traineeship in Newcastle

About the role

Bureau Veritas is offering a two‑year Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) Traineeship starting January 2027 in Newcastle. The program combines on‑the‑job field experience with funded study leading to nationally recognised qualifications in engineering and NDT.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake practical field work using NDT methodologies across various industries.
• Complete Certificate III in Engineering and Level II AINDT certifications in Materials Technology, Dye Penetrant and Magnetic Particle Testing.
• Progress to specialist training in Ultrasonic Testing (Welds) and accumulate hands‑on experience.
• Participate in mentorship, knowledge transfer and optional exposure to oil & gas, mining and drone operations.

Required profile

• Year 12 with pass marks in Maths, English and Science, or a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to pass a mathematical aptitude test.
• Can‑do attitude, willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
