Natural Reserves Maintenance Officer

About the role

Frankston City Council is looking for a Natural Reserves Maintenance Officer within its Operations Department. The officer delivers foreshore and horticultural maintenance programs in coastal areas, keeping the foreshore accessible, safe and clean while enhancing biodiversity and horticultural presentation in coastal reserves and public open space. The role is full-time, 38 hours per week under a 9-day fortnight arrangement with one rostered day off each fortnight.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure service standards are met so the foreshore remains accessible, safe and clean for everyone.
• Implement maintenance programs that improve biodiversity and horticultural presentation in coastal reserves and public open space, using best horticultural management techniques and specialist plants and equipment.

Required profile

• Certificate III or equivalent in Natural Resource Management, Horticulture or a related discipline.
• Experience maintaining and enhancing parks, conservation areas and garden beds to a visually pleasing standard.
• Strong understanding of safe work practices.
• Evidence of right to work in Australia, a current driver licence, a Working with Children Check, and willingness to provide a pre-employment health declaration and undergo a national police record check.
