National Pre-Contracts Manager

About the role

Lead the pre‑construction function for a growing national construction business, influencing executive strategy and securing major projects across South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee pre‑construction and tendering activities from opportunity assessment through to contract award for projects valued $10M‑$80M.
• Drive project selection, tender strategy and commercial positioning, identifying risks and value‑management opportunities.
• Manage major tenders, cost plans, construction methodologies and submission packages.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and key industry stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop team members, enhancing pre‑construction systems and processes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading pre‑construction, estimating or tendering functions within commercial construction.
• Proven track record delivering medium to large‑scale projects (typically $10M‑$80M).
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in risk assessment, tender strategy and contract negotiations.
• Established relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and contribute to business strategy.
