Site Manager for Underground Distribution Projects

About the role

The client is looking for an experienced Site Manager to support delivery of underground distribution projects. Based in Brooklyn, the role involves regular travel to sites across Melbourne's western suburbs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate civil contractors for conduit installation and related civil works.
• Coordinate cable hauling, installation and reinstatement activities.
• Handle contractor variations, claims and commercial matters.
• Monitor construction progress against schedules and milestones.
• Ensure site activities meet safety, quality and delivery standards.
• Coordinate interfaces between civil, electrical and commissioning activities.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Underground Joiners, contractors and delivery teams.
• Resolve day‑to‑day site issues to support successful project delivery.

Required profile

• Strong experience in underground electricity infrastructure or utility construction projects.
• Proven ability to coordinate civil and electrical construction activities.
• Extensive contractor and subcontractor management capability.
• Experience managing variations, claims and site‑based commercial issues.
• Good understanding of construction safety, quality and scheduling.
• Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills.
• Experience in distribution or sub‑transmission projects is highly regarded.
• VESI training/qualifications and willingness to travel regularly across Melbourne's western suburbs are advantageous.
