National Business Manager – Independent Grocery

About the role

As the National Business Manager for Independent Grocery (Metcash) at Saputo, you will own a key national portfolio and drive growth through strong customer partnerships and category leadership. Reporting to the Head of Sales – Independent Grocery, you will be responsible for commercial outcomes while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute Joint Business Plans to achieve sales growth and category performance.
• Build long‑term relationships with Metcash and Multi Store Operators, becoming a trusted commercial partner.
• Drive distribution, shelf share, profitability and market‑share outcomes.
• Lead forecasting and demand planning accuracy across stakeholders.
• Analyse market and scan data to identify opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
• Manage P&L outcomes, including trade investment and promotional planning.
• Support new product development, tenders and key customer initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a National Business Manager role.
• Strong background within Independent Grocery, specifically Metcash.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver commercial growth and strategic account plans.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen with P&L ownership.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, resilient mindset with a drive to exceed results.

Required skills

• Experience using market data and scan insights for analysis.
• Ability to develop and manage Joint Business Plans.
