National Anti-Corruption Commissioner & Deputy Commissioner

About the role

The Australian Government is recruiting senior leaders to serve as the National Anti‑Corruption Commissioner and Deputy Commissioners. These senior officials will head the National Anti‑Corruption Commission (NACC), an independent agency tasked with investigating serious or systemic corruption across the Commonwealth public sector.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the NACC’s strategic direction and operational activities.
• Oversee investigations, reporting and the exercise of coercive powers.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including other integrity agencies and the Parliamentary Joint Committee.
• Promote public confidence, integrity standards and corruption‑prevention initiatives.
• Travel between NACC offices in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth as required.

Required profile

• Retired judge of a federal, state or territory court, or a legal practitioner with at least five years of enrolment.
• Demonstrated record of senior leadership and a strong commitment to integrity.
• Ability to manage complex investigations and exercise significant statutory powers.
