Multiskilled Loader Operator

About the role

The Council is looking for a dedicated Multiskilled Loader Operator to join the Calen Depot team. You will support the maintenance and construction of roads, drainage assets and other civil infrastructure across the Mackay region.

Key responsibilities

• Perform labouring tasks and operate plant and trucks for road and drainage projects.
• Carry out earthworks, concrete works, pipe laying, bitumen applications and vegetation management.
• Assist with the set‑up and removal of traffic management controls.

Required profile

• Current General Construction Safety "White" Card.
• QLD Heavy Rigid Truck (HR) licence or equivalent, or willingness to obtain within six months.
• Certificate of Competency to operate road‑construction plant (loader, backhoe, skid steer, roller).
• Traffic Management Implementation (TMI) qualification or ability to obtain within twelve months.
