Mobile Plant Mechanic Apprentice (2027 Intake)

About the role

CEA is recruiting a Mobile Plant Mechanic Apprentice for its 2027 apprenticeship intake. You will gain hands-on experience working with construction and heavy machinery while completing your trade qualification, learning from experienced technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair mobile plant and equipment
• Assist with diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
• Carry out inspections and preventative maintenance
• Use workshop tools and diagnostic equipment
• Read and understand technical information
• Follow safe work practices and procedures
• Learn on the job alongside experienced technicians
• Complete the training and study requirements of the apprenticeship

Required profile

• A genuine interest in mechanics, heavy machinery or automotive
• A willingness to learn and develop new skills
• A reliable and positive attitude
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A strong commitment to workplace safety
• The ability to balance practical work with apprenticeship study
• A current driver's licence, or be working towards obtaining one
• Previous mechanical experience, work experience or automotive studies are an advantage but not essential
