Metal Machinist (First Class) - NSW

About the role

Just Automotive Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of its client, Hi-Torque Truck Spares (Aust) Pty Ltd, a private company in the heavy vehicle parts and service industry focused on trucks and trailers. Two full-time Metal Machinist (First Class) positions are available in NSW, with a pay of $80,000-$97,000 per annum depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Write and interpret instructions and procedures to assemble equipment and products accurately.
• Obtain information from all relevant sources.
• Program, set up and operate CNC routers.
• Control machines and processes.
• Inspect equipment, structures, materials and products.
• Read and understand production and CAD drawings.
• Maintain clear and honest communication and keep the work environment safe.
• Apply the latest relevant knowledge to the work.

Required profile

• Certificate in machine shop technology or machine tool technology/machinist.
• 1-2 years of experience in mechanical assembly preferred.
• A recognised apprenticeship may be required.
• Strong analytical, communication and computer skills, and an understanding of mathematics.
• Ethical behaviour, attention to detail and self-motivation.

Required skills

• Manual centre lathes, internal and external machining, and screw cutting with carbide and HSS tooling.
• Milling machines (vertical, horizontal or universal) for keyways, splines and facing.
• Slotting machines for internal keyways and splines.
• Internal and external measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers and dial gauges, including measurement calculations.
• Interpreting workshop drawings, specifications and tolerances.
