Merchandise Planning & Buying Manager

About the role

POSSE is seeking a Merchandise Planning & Buying Manager to drive the commercial performance of its retail and e‑commerce channels. Reporting to the COO, you will translate the brand’s creative vision into balanced assortments and disciplined inventory decisions, ensuring the right products are available at the right time.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Design and Product Development during seasonal range planning.
• Build commercially balanced assortments across category, colour, fabric, price and size.
• Analyse historical performance, customer behaviour and market insights to shape future collections.
• Identify growth opportunities, assortment gaps and new product development ideas.
• Lead commercial preparation of seasonal buys and provide clear recommendations.
• Develop and maintain seasonal sales, stock and margin plans, owning Open‑to‑Buy for all categories.
• Maintain weekly and monthly WSSI and MSSI forecasts and monitor performance against plan.
• Adjust inventory commitments, delivery timing, replenishment and purchasing decisions as needed.
• Track weeks of cover, sell‑through, stock turn, aged inventory and size availability.
• Recommend product, pricing and promotional actions to improve full‑price sell‑through.
• Collaborate with Ecommerce, Retail, Production and Logistics to align launches and trading requirements.
• Produce clear weekly trade, category, margin, markdown and end‑of‑season reports.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of experience in merchandise planning, buying or related commercial roles within fashion or premium apparel.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable commercial decisions.
• Commercial confidence and a passion for premium fashion.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with design, production, retail, ecommerce and finance teams.
