Member Engagement Officer

About the role

The Member Engagement Officer supports Penrith City Council’s Aquatics and Leisure centres by delivering friendly, professional service to members and visitors. This part‑time, seasonal role works across Ripples Leisure Centre, St Marys, Penrith and St Clair Leisure Centre, helping create exceptional experiences for the community.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Member Engagement Desk and coordinate with other teams.
• Provide excellent customer service, handling enquiries, feedback and complaints.
• Accurately process memberships, program bookings and payments.
• Maintain clear communication with customers and staff to ensure a welcoming environment.
• Identify and suggest procedural improvements for smoother operations.
• Promote memberships, programs and upcoming events.

Required profile

• Friendly, approachable attitude with strong communication skills.
• Customer‑service focus and ability to resolve enquiries calmly.
• Positive, professional manner and reliable punctuality.
• Team player who works well with others.
• Good organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Basic computer literacy and point‑of‑sale (POS) experience.
