Medical Officer – Rural Private Practice

About the role

This full‑time position is based in Moura, a welcoming rural community in Central Queensland. You will work alongside the Medical Superintendent delivering general practice, inpatient, outpatient and emergency services while also having the opportunity to earn additional income through a private practice component.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive general practice, acute, aged‑care and emergency care to the local population.
• Participate in the 24‑hour emergency coverage roster and support telehealth services.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to clinical education and professional development.

Required profile

• Medical qualifications eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Enrolment or acceptance into an eligible Specialist General Practice training program.
• Current ALS and APLS certification.
• Interest in rural and emergency medicine with a collaborative approach.

Required skills

• Clinical competence across general practice and acute care.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary rural health team.

• Total remuneration package up to AUD 429,389 per annum, including salary, superannuation and allowances.
