Internal Medicine Physician

About the role

Join the Department of Medicine at Gladstone Hospital as an Internal Medicine Physician, working alongside the Director of Medicine to deliver first‑class specialist general medicine services across a regional health network.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care, including emergency, high‑dependency and coronary care.
• Lead assessment, admission, ongoing management, transfer and discharge of patients.
• Participate in on‑call rosters and travel to outreach sites within the health service region.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and mentor junior medical staff.
• Engage in continuous quality improvement and clinical governance activities.

Required profile

• FRACP qualification or substantially comparable assessment by RACP, or eligibility for the accelerated specialist pathway.
• Extensive clinical knowledge and proficiency in General Medicine.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience in multidisciplinary team leadership and willingness to undertake on‑call duties.
• Commitment to professional development and training of International Medical Graduates.
