Media & Communications Manager

About the role

The Media & Communications Manager oversees all internal and external communications for Respect, ensuring consistent, engaging messaging aligned with the brand and strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver communications strategies for diverse audiences including residents, families, employees, government and industry stakeholders.
• Build strong media relationships, secure media opportunities and create compelling releases across print, radio, television and digital platforms.
• Create engaging content and publications to strengthen Respect’s brand and increase awareness.
• Monitor website and social media performance to identify growth opportunities.
• Elevate the Managing Director’s profile through media, thought leadership and speaking engagements.
• Produce and distribute company and facility newsletters.
• Lead crisis communications planning and support timely media responses during critical incidents.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
• Current NDIS Workers Screening certification or National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).
• Knowledge of the Australian aged care and retirement living industry is desirable.
• Understanding of crisis management strategies is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with desktop publishing/page layout software.
• Experience with photo editing software.
