Mechanical Supervisor - Wastewater Treatment D&C

About the role

Service Stream's Utilities team is looking for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to lead the delivery of critical water infrastructure projects across Melbourne's north and east, supporting Yarra Valley Water's Treatment Plant Improvements Program. Based in Epping, the role covers wastewater treatment plant upgrades worth up to $7 million, working with project engineers, project managers, subcontractors and client stakeholders. It is a permanent, full-time position reporting to the Program Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate and control the quality of subcontractor construction works
• Lead site safety and ensure works are built safely and in line with the design
• Manage, coordinate and monitor civil/structural, mechanical equipment installation and electrical installation subcontractors
• Ensure pre-start activities, permits and safety documentation are completed correctly
• Assist with commissioning and liaise with Yarra Valley Water and other stakeholders

Required profile

• Mechanical trade background or qualification; supervisors living in Melbourne's northern or eastern suburbs are encouraged to apply
• Multi-disciplinary project delivery experience, ideally in the water industry
• Some experience with chemical dosing facilities, large steel tank refurbishments, pump and UV equipment, inlet works and basic civil and electrical works
• Valid current tickets for the relevant plant and equipment
• Strong safety focus, effective communication with subcontractors and engineers, and initiative to set site priorities
