About the role
A client of RED Appointments is looking for experienced Mechanical Fitters for the Olympic Dam Smelter Shutdown, running from 04/11/2026 to 17/11/2026. This is a hands-on shutdown role supporting mechanical maintenance, equipment overhauls, inspections and repairs across critical smelter infrastructure. It is a FIFO position with camp accommodation provided.
Candidates with asthma or pacemakers may not meet the medical criteria because of site requirements within the smelter area.
Required profile
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter
- Previous shutdown, mining, maintenance or heavy industry experience
- Current White Card, Working at Heights and Confined Space licences
- High-risk work licence highly advantageous
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
- Australian working rights
