Mechanical Fitter - CNC Workshop

About the role

A well-established Australian engineering and manufacturing company specialising in heavy mechanical equipment and advanced workshop technology is looking for a qualified Mechanical Fitter. The role sits within an experienced workshop team using modern CNC machinery and industrial equipment, in a company that values quality workmanship, safety and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance on CNC and manual machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and perform breakdown repairs.
• Service and maintain CNC lathes, milling machines and other workshop equipment.
• Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Dismantle, inspect, repair and reassemble mechanical components.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality and workshop efficiency.

Required profile

• Australian-recognised trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter-Machinist or Machine Tool Fitter.
• Practical experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Background in manufacturing, engineering or heavy industrial environments.
• Experience with CNC or manual machine tool maintenance is highly regarded.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving, safety and teamwork.
• Full working rights in Australia and willingness to complete a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.

• Excellent salary based on experience.
• Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, plus overtime when available with applicable penalty rates.
