Field Service Technician - Refuge Chamber Service

About the role

MineARC Systems, a Perth-based manufacturer of emergency refuge chambers and remote monitoring, tracking and communications technologies, is open to expressions of interest for a Field Service Technician to join its Kewdale-based Service Department. Reporting to the Service Manager, the role involves travelling to sites where large clients have MineARC products installed at their remote operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support and on-site servicing of MineARC Refuge Chambers
• Diagnose and repair technical issues where possible
• Support and train clients on how to use and service MineARC products
• Maintain accurate records
• Assist with technical installations and commissioning
• Promote MineARC products where possible

Required profile

• Genuine interest in technology and innovation, with a strong mechanical aptitude
• Hands-on experience using tools; fault-finding and UPS system experience is advantageous
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including at short notice
• Customer service focus, excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders
• Current driver's licence
• Previous exposure to underground mining is highly regarded but not essential

Required skills

• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on tool use
• Basic understanding of electronics, networking and control systems is highly desirable
• Ability to train small groups once trained and up to speed
• Strong work ethic, autonomy, organisation, time management and attention to detail
