Mechanical Engineer – Product Development

About the role

Join a leading Australian drilling equipment manufacturer as a Mechanical Engineer, driving the design and improvement of industry‑leading drilling tools used worldwide. You will lead product development projects from concept through production and collaborate closely with manufacturing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead product development and continuous‑improvement initiatives for drilling equipment.
• Work with manufacturing to optimise designs for performance, reliability and manufacturability.
• Provide innovative solutions that enhance safety and productivity for global drillers.
• Manage projects from concept through to production, ensuring timely delivery.

Required profile

• Recognised Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering degree.
• 5+ years experience in product design and/or Design for Manufacture.
• Strong project management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing and commercial teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis (desired).
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles.
