Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to deliver engineering solutions across major defence programmes. You will apply engineering concepts to design, calculate and provide technical solutions throughout the product lifecycle, working independently with occasional supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical investigations and analysis to resolve problems and improve designs.
• Produce technical documentation, calculations and engineering solutions within delegated authority.
• Support and present technical reviews to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, procedures and codes.
• Contribute to product safety assessments and technical risk evaluations.
• Support process improvement initiatives across the engineering lifecycle.
• Share knowledge and help develop team capability.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain Commonwealth Security Clearance.
• Approximately 2 years of experience in mechanical or technical engineering roles.
• Accredited engineering degree (Washington Accord) or equivalent, eligible for Professional Engineer membership.
• Eligibility for membership with a relevant engineering body and commitment to CPD.
• Current driver’s licence and White Card.

Required skills

• Proficiency with engineering toolsets such as PLM and MRP systems.
• Experience using design, simulation or analysis software.
