MDR Analyst, Unit 42

About the role

Palo Alto Networks is looking for an MDR Analyst to join a new emerging team within Unit 42. You will work closely with global customers to provide top-tier security, following established processes for analyzing threat alerts that fire from Cortex XDR. The team works mostly in the office, with flexibility when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze threat alerts generated by Cortex XDR
• Own the incident lifecycle, from outbreak to full remediation
• Provide critical feedback to product, research, engineering and threat hunting teams to improve products for the customer base
• Work with Security Research, Threat Intelligence and Threat Hunting teams to remediate and detect new emerging threats

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in a multi-tiered SOC/IR; this is a must
• Quick learner and good communicator, able to follow established alert analysis processes
• Creative thinker who enjoys solving tough problems
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Some degree of malware analysis experience or equivalent military experience is an advantage

Required skills

• Familiarity with technologies such as EDR, SIEM, SOAR and firewall
• Well-established familiarity with attack trends and vectors
• Hands-on experience with Cortex XSOAR or Cortex XDR is an advantage
• CEH or CompTIA CySA+ certification is an advantage
