MC Linehaul Driver - Triple Road Trains

About the role

A Western Australian transport and logistics business, recruiting through Industrial Recruitment Partners, is looking for experienced MC truck drivers to operate triple and quad road trains and deliver freight across Perth and regional WA. The depot is based in Kewdale, and the role suits drivers who are safety-focused, confident with multi-combination vehicles and know Perth Metro and WA roads well.

The client has a well-maintained fleet of Freightliner Coronados, with new trucks joining soon, and follows a 1 driver, 1 truck policy so each driver keeps the same vehicle for every run. Most runs go to Kalgoorlie and the Goldfields, with some runs north, carrying mining and general freight.

Key responsibilities

• Operate triple road trains and heavy combination vehicles
• Load, unload and secure freight safely
• Couple and uncouple trailers and reverse into dollies
• Carry out pre-trip, en-route and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Plan routes using GPS and knowledge of WA roads
• Follow WA Fatigue Management, LUEZ, Chain of Responsibility and load restraint rules
• Maintain run sheets, timesheets, fatigue and delivery records
• Keep the vehicle clean, safe and roadworthy
• Communicate with fleet schedulers and supervisors about routes, delays, fatigue and downtime

Required profile

• Valid WA MC driver licence
• Proven experience operating triple road trains; ideally 2+ years of MC driving experience
• Confidence reversing into dollies and coupling/uncoupling trailers
• Strong knowledge of Perth Metro and regional WA roads
• Commitment to safety and compliance
• Willingness to work a 12 days on / 2 days off roster
• Experience on dirt roads and remote routes is a bonus

Required certificates

• Valid commercial driver medical
• Valid Fatigue Management Certificate (drivers)
• Police clearance
• Other relevant tickets such as CV, LF or DG

What we offer

• Pay of $40.29 per hour plus 67.6 cents per kilometre
• 12 days on / 2 days off roster
• Own truck for each run
