Managing Team Lead - Wills & Estates

About the role

A national law firm with offices across several states and territories is looking for a Managing Team Lead to run its Wills & Estates practice in Brisbane. You will lead the Brisbane team, manage your own caseload and work alongside Accredited Specialists and experienced lawyers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and mentor the team, guiding them on complex files
• Advise clients through stressful, life-changing matters with clear guidance
• Manage team performance, workflow and file quality
• Build client and referral relationships in Brisbane
• Work with colleagues across the firm's other offices

Required profile

• Admitted in Queensland with a current practising certificate
• 7+ years of practice in Wills & Estates
• Experience leading or supervising lawyers, or clear readiness to step up
• Desirable: contested estates experience, Accredited Specialist status or a path to it

Required skills

• Strong advocacy, advisory and drafting skills
• Empathy and clear communication with clients in difficult circumstances
• Commercial awareness and a client-first mindset
