Managing Principal – Risk Management

About the role

We are looking for a Managing Principal to join Marsh’s Risk Management team in Sydney. This hybrid position requires you to be in the office at least three days a week and involves managing a portfolio of major clients, providing tailored risk and insurance advice, and mentoring a team of risk professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow relationships with major clients across a complex portfolio.
• Assess client businesses, risk exposures, insurance needs and loss histories to inform suitable solutions.
• Lead business development activity and contribute to new business opportunities.
• Provide strategic risk advice to senior client stakeholders and support complex claims with claims specialists.
• Manage, coach and support a team of risk professionals.
• Maintain accurate client and compliance records while staying abreast of market and legislative changes.

Required profile

• More than 10 years’ experience in commercial insurance or risk management.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
• Strong knowledge of key insurance classes such as Industrial Special Risks and General Liability.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing and presentation skills, with the ability to work confidently with senior executives.
