Manager, Fraud & Scams Advisory

About the role

PwC Australia is hiring a Manager, Fraud & Scams Advisory in Sydney. The role leads advisory engagements that help organisations identify, assess, manage and mitigate fraud and scam risks, working with executive stakeholders to strengthen fraud prevention capabilities and meet regulatory obligations such as the Scams Prevention Framework and AML/CTF requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead fraud and scam risk advisory engagements from planning to delivery
• Conduct risk assessments, control reviews and maturity assessments
• Design prevention frameworks, governance and operating models
• Help clients implement controls across customers, channels and transactions
• Lead independent reviews of fraud management programs and remediation
• Advise on regulatory obligations, best practice and emerging threats
• Develop executive and Board-level reporting and recommendations
• Undertake root cause analysis of fraud events and assess control effectiveness
• Facilitate workshops with business, risk, technology and operations teams
• Support use of analytics, AI and technology-enabled solutions
• Manage and coach associates and senior associates, review work products and support business development

Required profile

• 5-8+ years' experience in customer fraud or scam prevention in consulting, banking or a regulatory environment
• Strong understanding of fraud risk management frameworks, regulations and controls
• Direct experience delivering customer fraud and scam projects or programs
• Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills

Required skills

• Desirable: banking, payments and transaction fraud, operational risk, fraud analytics and monitoring
• Desirable: CFE, CAMS/CAFS, CPA or CAD certification
