Manager – Business & Tax Advisory (Asian Business Practice)

About the role

KPMG is seeking a Manager to lead its Asian Business Practice, providing tax and business advisory services to China‑connected clients across Australia. You will act as a trusted advisor to mid‑market businesses, private groups and foreign‑invested enterprises, helping them navigate cross‑border tax, structuring and operational challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of China‑connected clients, delivering commercial‑focused tax and advisory solutions.
• Lead end‑to‑end engagement delivery, including scoping, budgeting, resourcing and technical review.
• Oversee tax compliance and reporting to ensure quality and regulatory adherence.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders such as CFOs, founders and board members.
• Identify business development opportunities and support proposal and pitch preparation.
• Collaborate with KPMG teams in Australia, China and the global network.
• Coach and develop Consultants and Senior Consultants, managing timelines, budgets and utilisation.
• Stay current on China‑related tax and regulatory developments and translate insights for clients.

Required profile

• Manager‑level experience in tax advisory or professional services.
• Strong background in international or China‑related tax.
• Proven stakeholder management and project delivery skills.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Commercial mindset with a focus on growth.
• Completed CA/CPA or equivalent qualification.
