Financial Accountant

About the role

BMW’s Finance team is looking for a Financial Accountant to support month‑end close, reporting and compliance across the Australian operation. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors to ensure accurate financial statements and regulatory filings.

Key responsibilities

• Support month‑end close and Group reporting, delivering accurate financial data on time.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and maintain sub‑ledger to general‑ledger mappings.
• Assist with statutory financial statements, coordinate external audits and resolve audit queries.
• Manage fixed‑asset accounting, including registers, depreciation postings and annual audits.
• Support GST, BAS and income‑tax reporting, including tax calculations and transfer‑pricing documentation.
• Prepare and submit APRA statistical reporting and uphold strong internal controls.
• Partner with Payroll, HR, Commercial Finance, IT, auditors and Munich headquarters to improve processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting with CA or CPA qualification.
• 2‑3 years of accounting experience, preferably in an industry setting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, GST and taxation requirements.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel capability.
• Experience using SAP.
