Maintenance Technician - Student Accommodation

About the role

A full-time Maintenance and Facilities Technician is sought for the Facilities and Maintenance team at Accolade on Gray, one of Adelaide's prominent student accommodation sites. The role keeps the building safe, clean and comfortable for residents by carrying out a range of maintenance tasks and responding to day-to-day building requests.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct general building maintenance and repairs
• Perform minor plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks, replacing taps and clearing minor blockages
• Carry out lighting maintenance, including replacing lamps and downlights
• Complete painting and touch-up work in common areas and apartments
• Get rooms guest-ready for new residents, from quick fixes to final checks
• Support contractors and assist with building inspections when required
• Respond to maintenance requests in a professional and timely manner
• Maintain a safe and tidy work environment

Required profile

• Solid practical skills, a positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in; decades of experience not needed
• Some experience in maintenance, facilities or a trade preferred but not essential (general handyman work, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, painting)
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities
• Ability to safely perform manual handling and carry and use a 12kg ladder

Required skills

• Strong communication, attention to detail and customer service skills
• General knowledge of basic building repairs
• Confidence setting up and using hand and power tools safely (all tools supplied)
