Commercial Manager - Naval Shipyards

About the role

Australian Naval Infrastructure Pty Ltd (ANI) owns, develops and manages the Osborne Naval Shipyards, supporting the Commonwealth's Naval Shipbuilding Plan, including the new Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard for the AUKUS program. ANI is looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to lead commercial matters across major infrastructure projects at the shipyard, reporting to the Commercial Director and working closely with the Project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide commercial oversight and assurance across assigned infrastructure projects
• Manage contract administration, including progress claims, variations, delays, disputes and contractual correspondence
• Support procurement and contractor management through commercial review, negotiation and risk assessment
• Oversee commercial reporting, forecasting and the identification and mitigation of project risks
• Lead and mentor Contract Administrators and Senior Contract Administrators

Required profile

• Extensive experience in infrastructure procurement, commercial management and project delivery
• Strong track record on large-scale construction projects, including contract and contractor management
• Proven ability to manage claims, variations, negotiations, disputes and complex contractual matters
• Sound commercial and financial judgement, with risk management and forecasting skills
• Relevant professional qualifications and registration, or eligibility for registration with an Australian professional body
• Ability to obtain and maintain a national security clearance; applicants must consent to background checks
