Fire Services Engineer - Building Services

About the role

A building services engineering consultancy in Adelaide is looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Fire Services Engineer to join its growing team. The engineer will design, document and deliver fire protection systems across commercial, residential, healthcare and industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design and document fire services systems: sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, fire detection and alarm systems
• Coordinate with architects, clients and other engineering disciplines
• Ensure designs meet Australian Standards (AS 2419, AS 2118, AS 1670), the NCC and local authority requirements
• Prepare technical reports, calculations and tender documentation
• Support project delivery during construction, including site inspections and commissioning assistance

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years' experience in fire services design within the building services sector
• Strong understanding of relevant codes and fire safety regulations
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Chartered status or progress toward CPEng/RPEQ is advantageous but not essential

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Knowledge of hydraulic modelling software is desirable
