Maintenance Officer - Retirement Living

About the role

A part-time Maintenance Officer is needed for 2 days per week at the St Johns Rise Retirement Living Village in Mooroolbark, Victoria. The role keeps the village safe and clean, provides responsive customer service to residents and supports a positive village community. The position is advertised by Benetas Careers, which represents a not-for-profit aged care organisation serving over 15,000 older Victorians.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake routine maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment and village infrastructure
• Respond to day-to-day maintenance requests and troubleshoot minor repairs in a timely manner
• Maintain gardens, outdoor areas and communal spaces to a high standard
• Complete preventative maintenance activities and keep accurate maintenance records and schedules
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers and help coordinate specialised maintenance works when required

Required profile

• Previous experience in property, facilities, building or grounds maintenance
• Practical trade or maintenance skills with the ability to safely undertake general repairs
• Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and safe work practices
• Customer-focused approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with residents, contractors and village staff
• Driver's licence and an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or ability to obtain it
