Maintenance Handyperson

About the role

Punthill Caroline Springs, a boutique serviced apartment with 80 rooms near Ballarat Road and the Springlake Precinct, is hiring a Maintenance Handyperson. Working closely with the Hotel Manager in a small team, the role covers general hotel maintenance in common areas and rooms, repairs and quick response to emergencies. The position is permanent and full time.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general hotel maintenance work in common areas and hotel rooms
• Repair apartments, equipment and common area hardware
• Help troubleshoot electrical equipment such as TVs and air conditioners
• Respond quickly to emergencies and keep maintenance inventory up to date
• Manage on-site contractors, their compliance and inductions, service agreements and building compliance audits
• Work independently with an ownership mindset while collaborating with the hotel team
• Manage and assist with new building defects

Required profile

• Approved Australian working rights (citizenship, permanent residency or a visa with approved working rights)
• Knowledge of general maintenance tasks
• Adaptable, with a strong sense of pride in their work and a willingness to learn and find creative solutions
• Good communication skills with team members and guests
