Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Chrysos is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join its global maintenance team, supporting PhotonAssay™ units deployed at Kalgoorlie, Norseman and Mt Ida sites. The role combines mechanical, electrical and software maintenance to ensure high availability of cutting‑edge ore‑analysis equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled monthly maintenance and rapid breakdown response on PhotonAssay™ units.
• Generate detailed maintenance and repair reports.
• Provide technical support via telephone, email and remote computer login, coordinating with Chrysos headquarters and the Chinese technology partner.
• Train customers on safe operation and basic troubleshooting.
• Monitor system performance and propose engineering solutions to design or operational issues.
• Test equipment for performance and safety compliance.
• Supervise contractors, manage upgrades or repairs, and ensure adherence to engineering specifications and protocols.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance processes and assist with equipment installations.

Required profile

• Engineering background with experience in mechanical, electrical or software maintenance of complex industrial equipment.
• Willingness to work on a roster that includes onsite shifts at remote mining locations.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with customers, project managers and international support teams.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and reports.
