Maintenance Electrician - Day Shift

About the role

A busy food manufacturing facility in Adelaide is looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join its established maintenance team. The role covers day-shift hours and involves keeping production running efficiently through preventative maintenance, fault finding and breakdown response across manufacturing and packaging equipment. The advertised rate is $50 per hour plus super, with lots of overtime available.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and reactive electrical maintenance on production and packaging machinery
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and minimise production downtime
• Diagnose issues with motors, sensors, drives, control circuits and automated equipment
• Assist with PLC fault finding and control system troubleshooting
• Complete inspections, repairs and equipment improvements
• Work closely with mechanical fitters, production teams and other maintenance staff
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow all safety procedures
• Identify ways to improve equipment reliability and plant performance

Required profile

• Current South Australian electrical licence or an equivalent recognised licence
• Experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance
• Proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Ability to work well within a close-knit maintenance team

Required skills

• Electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting
• Experience with motors, drives, sensors and control systems
• Exposure to PLCs and automated production equipment is highly regarded
