Logistics & Warehousing Employee (Explosive Ordnance Services)

About the role

Thales is seeking a Logistics & Warehousing Employee to support its Explosive Ordnance Services team across Australia. The role involves handling explosive ordnance and general stores in Tier 1 or Tier 2 depots, ensuring safe storage, distribution and maintenance while complying with strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform storage, distribution and maintenance of explosive ordnance and general inventory.
• Operate stock‑control systems for issuing, receipting, inventory management and documentation.
• Coordinate packaging and shipment of domestic and international stores, including hazardous and sensitive goods.
• Drive and maintain a range of military and heavy vehicles, including heavy rigid (HR) vehicles.
• Conduct item inspections, preparation for maintenance and certification processes.
• Support warehouse projects such as stocktakes, reorganisations and regular audits.
• Operate mechanical handling equipment such as forklifts, cranes and winches.
• Adhere to occupational health, safety and environmental procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Certificate II in Warehousing Operations or equivalent (option to study while employed).
• Experience with dangerous goods handling or explosive storage operations is desirable.
• Previous employment in Defence or the Defence industry is an advantage.
• Licence to operate heavy rigid vehicles and forklifts, or willingness to obtain one.
