Local Heavy Vehicle Driver – Townsville

About the role

Join Followmont’s professional driver team in Townsville, delivering general freight to regional and remote communities. This full‑time position offers a fast‑paced environment where you will build strong customer relationships through reliable local deliveries and pickups.

Key responsibilities

• Transport general freight safely and on schedule, including weekend and overtime shifts.
• Load and unload parcels, operating a forklift or pallet jack where required.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections, pre‑start checks, and complete paperwork such as run sheets, PODs and logbooks.
• Maintain high levels of customer service and resolve on‑road issues promptly.

Required profile

• Current Heavy Vehicle (HC) licence with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Forklift ticket (LF) is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong resilience, problem‑solving ability and capacity to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills with a diverse customer base.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment medical, drug and alcohol screen, and any required criminal history check.
