Linux Administrator

About the role

Leidos Australia is looking for multiple skilled Linux Administrators to join its AGO GEO SPACES program. You will work in a secure, high‑compliance environment delivering advanced national‑security technology solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 2/3 support for complex Linux issues to minimise business disruption.
• Administer, maintain and support the organisation’s Linux server environment and associated infrastructure.
• Manage virtualised environments (VMware, KVM) and physical systems such as HP OneView and GreenLake.
• Develop system configurations using Ansible, Puppet or Chef and manage the SOE lifecycle with Kickstart.
• Administer accounts, permissions and authentication services (LDAP/OpenLDAP) while ensuring security compliance.
• Implement security controls, including firewalls and mandatory access controls, and automate tasks with Bash, Python or Perl.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with enterprise‑grade Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE).
• Strong capability in managing user access and authentication services (OpenLDAP or similar).
• Hands‑on experience with configuration and deployment tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi/vSphere, KVM).
• Proven Level 2/3 incident management experience in enterprise environments.
• Australian citizenship with an active TSPV security clearance.
