Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME)

About the role

Toll Aviation, a division of Toll Government and Defence, provides crewed and uncrewed aviation solutions for government, defence and the civil sector. As a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) at the Mascot depot, you will provide maintenance and logistics support to fixed-wing aircraft and associated support equipment, keeping work in line with the Maintenance Organisation Manual, approved engineering procedures and Civil Aviation Safety Regulations. The role is central to maintaining airworthiness, safety and operational availability of the fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Certify aircraft maintenance within CASA Part 66 licence privileges
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled (AOG) maintenance
• Plan maintenance tasks including parts, tooling, ground support equipment and manpower
• Troubleshoot and rectify aircraft defects
• Supervise and mentor engineers and apprentices
• Ensure accurate and compliant maintenance documentation
• Carry out flight line duties including configuration, ranging and recovery
• Support deployed operations and prepare fly-away kits
• Ensure compliance with CASA, HSSEQ and organisational procedures
• Monitor calibration, tooling and shelf-life requirements

Required profile

• CASA Part 66 licence (B1.1 Mechanical or B2 Avionics)
• Experience in fixed-wing aircraft maintenance
• Strong safety focus and attention to detail
• Ability to certify maintenance and supervise personnel
• Must be entitled to work in Australia and able to undergo pre-employment checks including a criminal history check and medical
• Ability to work shifts, weekends and after-hours, and willingness to travel to other bases

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and maintenance practices
• Desirable: experience with King Air or PC-24 aircraft
• Desirable: familiarity with IAS or Gannet systems
• Desirable: operational or EMS aviation experience
