Library Technician

About the role

Ivanhoe Grammar School is seeking an organised and collaborative Library Technician to join its Library Services team, supporting library programs, information services and learning resources for students and staff. The role is part-time (0.6 FTE), ongoing, starting in January 2027, with flexible days. It sits in the Curriculum/Resources Services classification (Grade 2) and reports to the Administration Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operation of the library, working with the library team, staff and students
• Support acquisition, cataloguing, processing and availability of library resources
• Assist with circulation desk duties, including borrowing, overdue items and library supervision
• Maintain accurate catalogue records using the Accessit Library Management System
• Help students and staff access and use online resources
• Support stocktaking, subscriptions, memberships and maintenance of library resources
• Liaise with faculties so resources support curriculum needs
• Manage the upload and maintenance of online trial examinations
• Work with the Library Services team to improve library programs, processes and the student experience

Required profile

• Relevant qualifications in the field
• Demonstrated experience in patron-focused library and information services, ideally in a primary or secondary school
• Strong interpersonal, communication and administrative skills, able to stay organised under competing demands
• Sound knowledge of child safety protocols and compliance requirements
• Current Working with Children Check
