Legal Writer – Environment and Planning

About the role

LexisNexis is seeking an experienced Environmental and Planning lawyer to join its Practical Guidance team as a Legal Writer. This full‑time, hybrid position will allow you to combine legal expertise with cutting‑edge AI‑enabled content tools to produce high‑quality, plain‑English guidance for Australian lawyers.

Key responsibilities

• Create, review and maintain up‑to‑date Practical Guidance content on environment and planning law.
• Leverage AI‑assisted tools to improve the speed, consistency and usability of legal content.
• Collaborate with technology, product and editorial teams to embed legal expertise into AI‑driven research solutions.
• Ensure content reflects real‑world practice, market developments and emerging trends.
• Support brand awareness and market share growth across clients and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience in Australian legal practice.
• Practising experience as an environment and planning lawyer in Victoria, New South Wales or Queensland.
• Strong knowledge of planning, development and environmental regulatory frameworks.
• Experience advising on administrative, environmental, planning and local‑government law.
• Excellent communication, plain‑English writing and analytical skills.
• Ability to build relationships with diverse clients and stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AI‑assisted content creation tools.
